lovers of clay

who we are

Our Story

pot spot opened in 2021 with Jon & Syd’s need for a creative space in the city of vancouver, something that was becoming increasingly hard to find. they found their current space, at 721 gore, a couple months into their search.

The space itself was previously a bakery- needless to say there was much work to be done. Shelves and sinks went up, clay and tools brought in, and inspiration and creativity filled the rest. We brought in other members (shoutout to Imogen Carter, hillary webb, hyeran woo and myka tubo as well as emina alcantara).

emina helped our studio grow with her knowledge of branding and design, and helped to create the beautiful pot spot brand and community we’ve grown into.

we also have ongoing help from our wonderful studio assistant, elliot morning, who maintains the studio as well as brings so much fun to the space with her adorable boob mugs and playful ceramics.

pot spot today is a community of clay lovers, artists and friends who all share a passion for pottery. alongside our membership program, we host a variety of workshops, multi-week classes and private events.

our dream is to become a hub for art and community in a city that severely lacks artist spaces and events.
