Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most people who walk through our doors are trying pottery for the first time. We’ll guide you through it—mistakes, wobbly bowls, and all.

    Some of our classes are tailored for folks with more experience- it will be clear in the class description!

  • We host a mix of one-time workshops and multi-week classes, including wheel throwing and hand-building. Some sessions are more skill-focused, while others are all about relaxing, making, and connecting. check potspotstudio.com/classes for our current offerings!

  • All the essentials are covered—clay, tools, instruction, glazing and firing. We have aprons to borrow if you need one.

  • we’re in the heart of Chinatown in Vancouver, BC. our address is 721 gore avenue, close to plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars, parks, and boutiques.

  • Something comfortable you don’t mind getting a little messy. Clay washes out, but it’s best not to wear your favourite outfit.

  • Please do. A lot of people come solo, and it’s part of what makes the studio special—by the end, you’ve usually met a few new people.

  • It’s kind of perfect for that. It’s hands-on, a little playful, and way more memorable than just grabbing a drink.

  • Pottery takes time. Your work needs to dry, be fired, glazed, and fired again. Pieces are usually ready within 4-6 weeks- we’ll let you know the pickup date during your class or workshop.

studio policies

  • We offer refunds for workshop bookings cancelled at least 7 days in advance of the schedules session, minus a 50$ administrative fee.

    Cancellations made within 7 days of the workshop/class are non-refundable.

  • Due to limited spots and the small, intimate nature of our studio, we’re unable to offer refunds or credits for missed classes.

    We do not offer make-up sessions for missed classes, so please make sure you’re able to attend before booking.

  • As a small studio, each booking helps us plan materials, staffing, and space. These policies allow us to keep things running smoothly while continuing to offer thoughtful, small-group experiences.
